Trip into Waipio Valley with Maela

Part of the steep road down into the valley visible on the left. 4 wheel drive vehicles only allowed.

Ok, so we wussed out and did not cross this river... the water was cold... and we had no swimsuits or changes of clothes... (at least we walked down into the valley and thence back up, rather than simply drive it!)

But there was still plenty to see and explore on our side of the valley!
