Hike to the Waipio Valley

Nick, Franz, Jon, Maela (the 4 French from the compound) and I went on a hike one day to the Waipio Valley.   We started from the White Road trailhead. The good trail led through tropical rainforest to magnificent views of valley.  After stopping for lunch enjoying a great view back down the valley, we continued on through a small bamboo forest after which the trail became completely overgrown.  We spent a lot of time searching for the trail and met up with a scruffy sick looking dog.  Eventually we made our way out of the jungle and back to the town of Waimea.
