Southern Utah '06
Final Day - Drove down to Nevada and spent until mid-afternoon hiking around a fantastical Valley of Fire SP, drove the length of Lake Meade to the Hoover Dam, and then spent a nice evening in Vegas astounded by the excess and waste. I admit I had a great time, but did the Colorado really have to be dammed so that a well lit purple Bellagio could display giant beautiful fountains synchronized to music in the middle of the desert? A sign at Hoover Dam read, "They died to make the desert bloom". Um, not sure I can think of any sillier reason to die.
