More Big Island Adventures
Weekend trip to Hakalau Bird Refuge on the slopes of Mauna Kea with the Sierra Club. We got to plant trees on day 1 and explore a bit on day 2. We also got a chance to watch the UH graduate students and interns hard at work catching and banding birds. In this particular case, they caught an i'iwi! What a magnificent bird!
