Trip to Death Valley for the 'Bloom of a lifetime' 3/20 - 24/05

Exploring Canyons

Titus Canyon

This is normally a road; this year flood damage has turned it into a hiking trail.

Now, picture jawas, robots,...

Fall Canyon

Slowly making my way there, sidetracked by innumerable flower displays.

As close as I got - it started raining here and I was obliged to obey the first rule of canyoneering.

Mosaic Canyon

After hiding behind clouds and sand all day, the sun makes a surprise evening appearance.

Marble Canyon

This involved a fun jeep trek over rough 'road' followed by a short 2.5 mile hike to the mouth of the canyon.

Green hills

major intersection - right: Marble Canyon, Left: Cottonwood canyon. I went right.

After a short hike into the canyon, I have reached the first obstacle - major chokestone.

Not to worry, there's a way around. Purple asters.

Grotto Canyon

Next: Sand dunes
